David
David Grindley BA (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA Chartered Architect
Partner Grindley Architects.
David studied at Leeds School of Architecture. He worked in Rotterdam 1976-77 and then for the Architect Planner at British Waterways 1978-82 prior to joining Trevor Denton Wayland Tunley Architects in 1982.
David became a director at Denton Scott Associates in 1988. He formed his own practice in 1992 and then in partnership with Trevor Denton from 1994 to 2002.
David Grindley Architects formed in 2002 and in 2006 moved into an award winning office designed and constructed by the practice.
David founded the Grindley Architects partnership in 2018.
Other responsibilities:
1989-2016: Senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes School of Architecture. David has run a highly successful design studio units in both undergraduate and diploma. Lecturer in construction technology and materiality in architectural design.
Emma
Emma Grindley BA (Hons) M.Arch ARB Architect
Partner Grindley Architects
Emma graduated from Newcastle upon Tyne in 1999 with first class honours and received a number of awards including the travel scholarship in recognition of her final project. She worked for RMJM in London before joining David Grindley Architects in 2002.
At RMJM she gained experience of large-scale educational projects through working on Newbury College, University of Birmingham Continuing Education Faculty, and also master planning for the University of Hertfordshire Hatfield Campus.
She completed her RIBA part two (commendation) and three (distinction) at The Barlett School of Architecture, University College London, where she studied evacuated solar tube technology and renewable energy systems as part of her technical dissertation.
Emma became a Partner of Grindley Architects in 2018.
Robert
Robert Grindley BA (Hons) M.Arch RIBA Chartered Architect
RIBA Conservation Registrant (2013-present)
Partner Grindley Architects.
After graduating from Newcastle Upon Tyne University in 1999 with a first class honours degree, Robert worked in The Netherlands for Hubert-Jan Henket Architecten and Architectenbureau Koen van Velsen.
During his time in Holland he worked on a number of projects including the Maastricht Law Courts, Student housing in Utrecht, and the Technical University in Eindhoven.
He completed his RIBA part two (commendation) and three at The Barlett School of Architecture, University College London and joined David Grindley Architects in 2002. Robert became a Partner of Grindley Architects in 2018.

Paul
Paul Grindley BA (Hons) BArch Architect
Partner Grindley Architects.
Paul graduated from Newcastle Upon Tyne University in 2001, with a first class degree in Architectural Studies. He received the following awards: Napier Memorial Fund and William Bell Memorial Scholarship and was nominated for the RIBA Presidents medal.
Paul gained 3 years experience with Patel Taylor Architects in London working on projects such as Essex University Lecture Hall, Whitechapel Gallery Competition, Penarth Headland link Cardiff and Orleans House Gallery
He completed his RIBA part two BArch in Architecture at Cardiff University in 2005 and received the Colwyn Foulkes Trust Award for sustainable design.
Paul joined David Grindley Architects in 2005 and received his RIBA part 3 professional qualifications in 2007.
Paul became a Partner of Grindley Architects in 2018.
Adriana
Adri Grindley Practice Manager.
Adri administers the day to day running of the office and coordinates our RIBA Chartered Practice status, insurances and membership of professional bodies such as TRADA and NBS.
Prior to joining the practice Adri has a background in nursing and worked for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes for just over 17 years, until 2002.
