Houghton Golf Clubhouse

The design of the Houghton on the Hill Golf Clubhouse is rooted in the rolling hills of the Leicestershire countryside. Resting on the side of the ridge, the clubhouse is designed to carefully fit the delicate site. Its counterpart, the Golf Academy sits, in harmony to the site’s topography, on the opposite side of the valley. A pedestrian bridge spans the valley linking the two buildings. The driving range component is cut into the hillside.

The main objective was to develop a way of connecting to the natural environment, as well as providing a functional, versatile and inspiring building for the golf club and associated activities.
